新SAT作文的考试时间是50分钟,考生先要读完一篇650-750字的文章,文章通常呈现一个观点。
考生在读完这篇文章后需要从证据(evidence), 语言(stylistic and persuasive elements)及推理 (reasoning) 来客观分析这篇文章,写出一篇不少于600字的文章 (尽管OG未明确说明具体字数)。
两位考官从三个方面评分reading, analysis及reading,每位考官每个评分项区间为1-4,因此最终每一项所呈现的分数是2-8.
1. 可essay分为三大部分,introduction, body paragraph, 和conclusion. 在introduction部分一般需要呈现thesis statement, 根据thesis statement进而将文章发展为3个支撑的body paragraphs.

值得注意的是根据文章不一样,evidence, reasoning, stylistic elements 可能会去掉某一个,并多剩余2个中的1个点。考生需要真正理解文章的结构,逻辑,段落之间的关系。
